Watercolor Birthday Card

I got the idea for this card from Connie Collins from Constantly Stamping. She made a beautiful watercolor card that I just couldn't pass up. Her's is more detailed then mine but I like the simplicity of it all. The best part was the painting with the Aqua Painter. The relaxing feeling of painting a small piece of art is amazing.

Another detail I enjoyed was the use of stamping in the background to create a type of boarder. I used the Timeless Textures Stamp Set (140517) for the background. Love the incompleteness of the stamp, gives great focus for the eye to be drawn to the middle of the card.

All in all I thoroughly enjoyed working on the card. And my girls in my group loved it too. A great Birthday card.

Measurements I used:
Very Vanilla CS 8 1/2 x 5 1/2  scored at 4 1/4
Basic Black CS  5 1/3 x 3 7/8
Watercolor Paper  5 x 3 3/4

Hope you enjoyed!

Affectionately Yours Thank You Card

I am in love with the colors of this card. Night of Navy is starting to be my new favorite color. For those who know me best know that I don't like blue, I favor more pinks. But this color just pops. It matches so well with other colors and is a good base color to start with.

Another technique that I am really enjoying is the color on color stamping. I used Night of Navy ink and stamped on Night of Navy cardstock. The stamping ink shows up darker on the color cardstock and adds a new take on stamping and color.

I also used the new Affectionately Yours DSP with the copper shimmer to it. I love, love, love this paper. It's so pretty. Adds so much detail to the patterns on the paper.

Hope you enjoyed!

Husband's Birthday Card

This is a very late post. I had been meaning to post this card a few months ago but life got in the way. I had to endure some surgery on my mouth that took a good deal of healing and time off work.
I now have more time to post to my blog. I have been working on some awesome projects especially with the new catalog going on.

I wanted to post this card first because it is a "Manly Card" and I don't post a lot of these type of cards. I have been meaning to do so but all the girly stuff gets in the way and make it so much easier to create. A "Manley Card" requires, I think, a lot of creativity and the ability to not want to add pink. Hahahaha.

I gave this card to my husband for his birthday (in April). He liked it and was very intrigued by the colors and textures of the stamping.  He told me he was expecting something with more of a girly tone to it and was very happy with the result.

Hope you enjoyed!
